The National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have launched a partnership aimed at promoting transparency, accountability and ethical standards in Nigeria’s sports sector.
The collaboration was unveiled during a technical meeting held at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, where NSC Chairman, Shehu Dikko, outlined ongoing reforms under the RHINSE framework.
According to Dikko, the reforms are designed to reposition sports as a key contributor to Nigeria’s economy while ensuring the sector remains transparent, credible and attractive to both local and foreign investors.
EFCC Chairman, Olanipekun Olukoyede, commended the ongoing reforms in the sports industry and pledged the commission’s support toward sustaining integrity within the sector.
Olukoyede stated that the EFCC would support the initiative through preventive compliance measures, fraud risk assessments and stronger institutional collaboration aimed at improving accountability across Nigeria’s sports ecosystem.
The partnership is expected to strengthen governance standards and support efforts to build a sustainable and investor-friendly sports industry in the country.
