The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed that a helicopter crashed on Tuesday evening in Lagos State.
According to the agency, an Airfirst Hospitality and Tour Ltd. helicopter with the registration number 5NCCQ crashed close to the Lagos Airport.
Two crew members and two passengers were extricated from the wreckage, according to NEMA.
In the statement, NEMA mentioned that search and rescue activities were carried out by its employees as well as that of LASEMA, the Fire Service, Security Agencies, and other stakeholders.
Four People Rescued Alive
In the Ikeja area of Lagos State, four people from a helicopter that crashed in front of a United Bank for Africa (UBA) office have been rescued.
In a statement on Tuesday, the spokesman of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Gboyega Akosile said the four occupants were retrieved from the aircraft alive.
Akosile disclosed that the four casualties have been transferred to the hospital for further care and treatment.
He added that the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the Lagos Fire Service are on the ground at the site of the incident.
He wrote: “The helicopter containing 4 persons including the pilot crash landed in front of the UBA branch in Ikeja.
“All four casualties have been retrieved from the aircraft alive. They have been transferred to the hospital for further care. LASEMA, Lagos Fire Service on the ground.”
