King Charles III and Queen Camilla to Make First Official U.S. State Visit

King Charles III and Queen Camilla are set to visit the United States later this month for their first official state visit to the country.

The royal couple will arrive on April 27, with a schedule that includes stops in New York, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The trip marks Charles’ first visit to the U.S. since 2018, when he attended the state funeral of former President George H. W. Bush.

According to a statement from Buckingham Palace, the visit will highlight the longstanding relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States, focusing on shared history as well as economic, security, and cultural ties.

The itinerary includes a state dinner at the White House and events commemorating America’s 250th anniversary. In Washington, the king and queen are also expected to attend a private meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, including a tea gathering.

Trump, who has previously been hosted by British monarchs during his time in office, expressed enthusiasm for the visit, saying he looks forward to spending time with the king.

The trip is expected to underscore the enduring diplomatic and cultural ties between the two nations.
