Injured Okoye, A Huge Worry For Az Clash

Maduka Okoye, the Super Eagles’ goalkeeper, is a huge worry for Sparta Rotterdam’s match against AZ Alkmaar in the Dutch Eredivisie on Sunday.
Last Sunday, Okoye suffered a shoulder injury in Sparta Rotterdam’s 1-0 loss to Ajax.
After clashing with Ajax attacker Danilo, the 22-year-old was stretchered off in the 24th minute.
While the injury was first thought to be serious, the new Watford signing put those anxieties to rest.
“Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper Maduka Okoye just informed us that his shoulder injury is not that bad. The keeper expects to be able to play against AZ again next Sunday. Okoye had to be sidelined against Ajax with pain,” Dutch online news hub Rijnmond Sport tweeted.
He might not however be fit for the Ajax game as the club are still assessing him and will not want to risk using him.
Watford has already signed the Eagles defender to a five-and-a-half-year deal.
The deal would however see him remain on loan at Sparta before joining the Hornets in the summer.
