Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has dismissed rumors suggesting he plans to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement issued on January 7, 2025, by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the governor described the claims as baseless and the work of opposition elements attempting to sow discord.

“Governor Oborevwori is widely accepted by well-meaning Deltans and residents. He has no reason to leave the PDP,” the statement read.

The governor urged the people of Delta State and the general public to disregard the rumors, reiterating his unwavering commitment to the PDP and its values.

The clarification follows media reports speculating on a possible defection, which the governor’s office has firmly denied.
