Governor Alia Calls for United Effort to Combat Insecurity in North Central Nigeria Benue State 

Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, has emphasized the need for a multidimensional approach and synergy in combating insecurity in North Central Nigeria.
Speaking at the 1st North Central Zonal Stakeholders Meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lafia, Nasarawa State, yesterday, Governor Alia highlighted the severe insecurity issues affecting the region, which have also led to food insecurity.
 Governor Alia called for unity among North Central governors and party stakeholders, expressing hope that the meeting would lead to further discussions and solutions to their shared challenges.
He noted that while Benue State is experiencing relative peace, more efforts are needed to achieve lasting stability. He proposed the idea of a North Central Security Summit to foster a broader exchange of ideas on addressing insecurity in the region.
Governor Alia also thanked the Federal Government for its support, particularly in security and infrastructure, and pledged his continued commitment to the party’s success. Kwara State Governor and North Central Zonal Coordinator, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, thanked APC stakeholders for their contributions to the party’s success in recent elections and urged continued efforts to ensure future victories.
 Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, who represented President Bola Tinubu at the event, praised the North Central’s significant role in the formation and success of political parties in Nigeria.
He highlighted key appointments given to the region and called for unity among stakeholders to maintain the party’s success. APC National Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, noted that the North Central Zonal Stakeholders Meeting is part of the party’s reform efforts, urging stakeholders to keep the party functional and operational.
Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, in his welcome address, called for peace and unity within the APC in the North Central region.
