Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has urged Nigerian youths to actively participate in politics to shape their own futures and create meaningful change. He made this call during a church service at The Transforming Church (TTC) in Abuja on Sunday.
Otti emphasized that every society requires the leadership it deserves and warned that if the youth remain passive, politicians will continue to make decisions on their behalf. Citing Psalms 62:11, he reminded attendees that power ultimately belongs to God and encouraged young people to embrace political involvement.
“I challenge all the young people here: don’t shy away from politics. This is where the decisions that affect your future are made,” he stated. He highlighted that holding political office provides an opportunity to impact the lives of many, enabling individuals to drive the changes they wish to see in their communities.
Reflecting on his own journey, Otti shared that he transitioned from the banking sector to politics in 2014 to effect change by adopting a different approach. As governor, he noted that a single decision could significantly influence the entire population of Abia State. He concluded by encouraging Christians to not only pray for their aspirations but also to pair their faith with hard work to bring their dreams to fruition.
