Gov. Adeleke Demands Full LG Accounts Compliance

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has directed strict adherence to the Osun State Local Government Accounts Administration Law, 2025, which governs the opening, management, and operation of local government accounts.

The directive was issued on Saturday through a statement by the governor’s media aide, Olawale Rasheed. Adeleke also praised the Osun State chapter of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) for deciding to resume work on January 5, describing the move as “patriotic and people-oriented.”

The NULGE leadership had earlier announced the return of its members after approximately 11 months of strike action, which stemmed from a dispute over local government council control between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Governor Adeleke said the decision by local government workers reflects the labour movement’s sensitivity to the needs and aspirations of the people. He expressed optimism that the resumption of work would usher in enhanced service delivery and social development at the grassroots level across Osun State.
