Girl Trafficking From Mali To Nigeria Is Worrisome, Says NAPTIP

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has expressed concern over the fact that traffickers are currently bringing females from Mali to Edo State for use as prostitutes and other forms of exploitation.
During a road walk to commemorate the 2023 World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, Barr Nduka Nwawenene, Commander of NAPTIP, Benin Zone, stated that the theme, “Reach Every Victim of Trafficking, Leaving No One Behind,” was a call for increased collaboration among key players in the anti-human trafficking circle. He also added that it presented an opportunity to raise awareness on the emerging trends and development regarding vulnerable groups targeted by human trafficking.
