FBI Raids Homes of NYC Mayor’s Aides, Seizes Cellphones of Top NYPD Officials in Widening Investigation

The FBI visited the homes of two top aides to New York City Mayor Eric Adams and subpoenaed cellphones from at least seven NYPD members, including one belonging to Commissioner Edward Caban, according to sources cited by ABC News.

Agents arrived at the Hamilton Heights residence of First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and the Hollis, Queens home of Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Phil Banks, asking them to hand over their phones, sources said.

The actions began on Wednesday morning, though the news surfaced on Thursday afternoon. It is believed the FBI visits likely took place at dawn on Wednesday.

Sources also indicated that agents seized evidence, including electronics, from Wright’s home as part of their investigation. Wright shares her Hamilton Heights residence with her partner, Schools Chancellor David Banks, who is the brother of Phil Banks.
