Former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has advised Nigerians to ignore the ongoing political feuds and instead concentrate on addressing the critical issues of governance facing the nation.
Speaking at his 60th birthday celebration, Fayemi described political disputes as mere entertainment for the public, stressing that such squabbles do not reflect the true state of affairs in the country.
“All these things you read on social media are for your entertainment,” Fayemi remarked. “Many will wonder why Governor Segun Oni is here. During his birthday, I spent the entire day with him, and Governor Ayodele Fayose too would have been here without hesitation if he was around.”
Fayemi further emphasized that despite political differences, especially among Ekiti State politicians, they are not enemies. “We may belong to different political parties, but there is one party that we collectively belong to – the Ekiti Party, the Ekiti Progressive Party – and our governor is carrying on with that,” he added.
He concluded by highlighting the importance of unity in working toward the greater good of both the state and the nation.
