Edo State Governor Obaseki Disbands All Deputy Gov’s Media Aides

The Edo Deputy Governor is now required to obtain media coverage of his office activities from the Ministry of Communication and Orientation after the Edo State Government disbanded the media team attached to his office.
Chris Osa Nehikhare, the Commissioner of Information, announced this in a statement on Monday.
This directive came in response to an ugly and unfortunate incident that occurred during the colloquium marking the 60th anniversary of the Midwest Referendum at the Sir Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub and Soundstage, where some journalists claimed to be the deputy governor’s media crew, and tried to force their way into the hall where the governor and other invited dignitaries were already seated.
This act was contrary to the accreditation protocol that had been established for media coverage of the event.
The orchestrated and stage-managed walkout and disruption is highly regrettable.
