Edo Governorship: PDP Suspends National Vice Chairman Dan Orbih

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its National Vice Chairman (South South), Chief Dan Orbih, from all party activities, pending an investigation into his conduct related to the forthcoming Edo State governorship election.
In a statement released on Wednesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the National Working Committee (NWC) unanimously condemned Orbih’s actions and remarks, labeling them inconsistent with the party’s constitution and the responsibilities of his office.
To address the issue, the NWC has formed a six-member committee led by Deputy National Chairman (South), Amb. Taofeek Arapaja. During the investigation, Orbih, who is closely associated with Minister Nyesom Wike, will be excluded from all NWC meetings and activities.
The statement further noted, “The NWC appreciates the support and solidarity of the vast majority of the people of Edo State who are rallying with our Party and Candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, whose vision aligns with the will and aspirations of the people for continued significant development of the State under the PDP platform.”
The NWC urged all leaders, critical stakeholders, and members of the PDP in Edo State to remain united, focused, and diligent in their efforts to secure victory for the party and its candidate in the September 21, 2024, governorship election.
