The Bauchi State government has officially transferred the General Hospital Misau to the federal government, initiating the establishment of a Federal Medical Center in the area.
This step aligns with Governor Bala Mohammed’s vision to enhance healthcare services for the people.
The handover was confirmed by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adamu Umar Sambo, who stated that the State Executive Council ratified the hospital transfer during its meeting. “This development demonstrates Governor Mohammed’s commitment to improving healthcare in Bauchi. We are working tirelessly to ensure our citizens receive the best possible medical attention,” he said.
During the briefing, Dr. Rilwanu Mohammed, Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, reassured citizens that there are no confirmed cholera cases in the state. He urged residents to maintain good hygiene practices and keep their environments clean to prevent disease spread.
Additionally, the Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Amina Katagum, announced that the state government would initiate a comprehensive program to name streets and houses across the 20 local government areas.
