APC’s Ododo Emerges Winner Of Kogi Governorship Election, INEC Declares

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Usman Ododo, has been officially declared the winner of the Governorship election in Kogi State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). 
The results, announced by the Returning Officer, Prof. Johnson Urama of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, at the INEC state collation center in Lokoja on Sunday night, revealed that Ododo secured 446,237 votes.
His closest rival, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), garnered 259,052 votes. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate received 46,362 votes, and Hon. Leke Abejide of the African Democratic Party (ADP) obtained 21,819 votes.
Prof. Urama declared Usman Ododo as the winner, emphasizing that the canceled votes in areas with no election, totaling 16,247, did not substantially impact the overall outcome of the result.
“Ahmed Ododo having certified the requirements of the law is hereby declared winner and returned elected,”he said.
Kogi Guber: APC Wins 13 LGAs, SDP 7, PDP Zero
Following the collation of results from the 21 local government areas of Kogi State, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Usman Ododo, has won in 13 local government areas of the state.
According to the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the collation center in Lokoja, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alhaji Murtala Ajaka got 7 local government areas while Hon. Leke Abejide of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) won one local government area.
Ododo who is also leading in the vote count polled 446,237 votes while Ajaka secured 259,052 votes and Abejide got 21,819.
On his part, Senator Dino Melaye of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who was unable to win any local government garnered 46,362.
