The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its commitment to reclaim Osun State and deliver a decisive win for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
The declaration was made on Thursday by the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, at the APC national secretariat in Abuja during the presentation of the certificate of return to Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the party’s governorship candidate for Osun State.
Yilwatda described Oyebamiji’s emergence by consensus as a demonstration of the party’s unity, maturity, and teamwork.
“Leadership is collective, even though the glory eventually rests on one shoulder. Working with the entire family is not optional; it is essential,” he said.
Criticising the current Osun administration, Yilwatda claimed that governance had been marked more by “optics and theatrics” than tangible development over the past three years.
“For the past three years, Osun State has been defined more by optics and theatrics than by tangible development. Governance has too often appeared as performance, with little in terms of concrete projects or enduring impact that the people can truly point to,” he said.
He added that Oyebamiji’s victory would usher in a leadership era judged by results rather than appearances, noting that Osun was the only South-West state lost by Tinubu in the last general election.
“This time, we are determined to win convincingly for our candidate in Osun and for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” Yilwatda asserted.
