The All Progressives Congress (APC) has blamed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for the ongoing crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accusing him of political desperation.
In a statement on Tuesday, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, also criticized Atiku for attacking the judiciary, stating that it is ironic given his history of leveraging the courts for political gains.
“The judicial branch of government, like the executive and legislative arms, is a constitutional creation with the authority to adjudicate disputes,” Morka stated. “Atiku cannot wish away or seek to abolish the court’s power to intervene in electoral and civil disputes when invoked by a litigant.”
Morka urged Atiku to focus on rebuilding the PDP rather than casting aspersions on the judiciary. He further claimed that Atiku’s desperation has led to the “catastrophic disintegration” of the opposition party.
The APC also dismissed Atiku’s recent remarks as a ploy to gain political support ahead of the 2027 general election, urging Nigerians not to be distracted by what it described as false alarms from desperate politicians.
