Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, Kayode Are, has officially presented his Letter of Credence to U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House.
The development was disclosed by Reno Omokri, who currently serves as Ambassador-Designate to Mexico, in a post on his official X account on Sunday.
Omokri congratulated Are, describing his career as distinguished, noting his past service as Director General of the Department of State Services and National Security Adviser.
He expressed confidence that Nigeria would be well represented in Washington, praising Are as a professional soldier and diplomat with “unblemished service” to the country.
Omokri also highlighted the ambassador’s choice of traditional attire during the ceremony, describing it as a strong display of Nigerian culture and soft power.
“My family and I congratulate Ambassador Are, and I extend the right hand of fellowship to this patriot par excellence,” he added.
