The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, with its presidential primary slated for May 15 and 16, 2026.
The schedule, detailed in a document signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, outlines key timelines covering the sale of forms, screening of aspirants, appeals, and primaries across all elective positions.
Key Dates and Activities
· Sale of expression of interest and nomination forms: April 25 – May 2
· Submission of completed forms: Closes May 4
· Screening of aspirants: May 6 – 8
· Publication of screening results: May 11
· Appeals: May 12 – 13
Primary Election Schedule
· House of Representatives: May 18
· Senate: May 20
· State Houses of Assembly: May 21
· Governorship: May 23
· Presidential Primary: May 15 – 16
Presidential aspirants will pay ₦100 million for forms, comprising ₦30 million for expression of interest and ₦70 million for nomination. Governorship forms are pegged at ₦50 million, while fees for other positions vary.
The party also announced concessions for special groups, stating that female, youth, and physically challenged aspirants will pay only the expression of interest fee and 50 per cent of the nomination cost.
According to the APC, the timetable is in line with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Electoral Act 2026, and guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), underscoring its commitment to credible and transparent primaries.
As of the announcement, no member of the party has formally declared interest in the presidential race, although some leaders have already endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term.
