Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has dissolved the state’s executive council, retaining only a select group of commissioners, special advisers, and directors-general.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Secretary to the State Government, Habibat Adubiaro, instructed affected commissioners and advisers to hand over to the permanent secretary or the most senior civil servant in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.
“The Governor thanks the affected members of the state executive council and wishes them success in their future endeavors,” the statement read.
The dissolution excludes the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, as well as the commissioners for Health and Human Services, Agriculture and Food Security, Education, Works, and Trade, Investment, Industry and Cooperatives.
Also unaffected are the Special Adviser on Special Education and Social Inclusion, the Special Adviser on Lands, Survey and e-GIS, and three directors-general heading the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Project Monitoring, and the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).
