PDP Confident of Victory in Ondo Governorship Election – Gov. Bala Mohammed

Bala Mohammed, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDPGF) and Governor of Bauchi State, expressed strong confidence in the PDP’s prospects for victory in the upcoming Ondo State governorship election on November 16. He made this assertion during the official flag-off of the PDP’s campaign in Akure, the state capital.

Addressing a gathering of supporters, Governor Mohammed emphasized the party’s unity and dismissed claims of internal conflicts. He accused those attempting to sow discord of trying to establish a one-party state in Nigeria, vowing that the PDP would not allow this to happen. “There is no crisis in the PDP. Those trying to create crises are trying to make Nigeria a one-party state, but the PDP will not allow that to happen,” he stated.

Highlighting Ondo’s historical role as a center of education and justice, he assured supporters that PDP governors fully support the party’s candidate, Agboola Ajayi, and his deputy. He urged them to actively campaign and vote for the PDP to liberate themselves from the “shackles of poverty and hunger.”

During the event, acting National Chairman Umar Damagum handed the PDP flag to Ajayi, underscoring the increasing hunger in the nation and urging Ondo residents to seize the chance to end the suffering attributed to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). “This APC has already killed everybody with hunger,” Damagum remarked.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, a prominent PDP leader in the Southwest, cautioned voters against selling their votes, linking such actions to the current hardships faced by the populace. “We’ve seen what vote buying and selling have led us to. If they come to you, don’t sell your votes,” he advised, encouraging voters to choose the PDP for better governance, as demonstrated in Oyo, Osun, and other PDP-led states.

The campaign event attracted notable PDP figures, including Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Senator Sam Egwu, Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro, and former Ekiti Deputy Governor Abiodun Olujimi.
