Barbra Streisand also remembered Kristofferson fondly, recalling the first time she saw him perform: “I knew he was something special.” The two later starred together in the 1976 remake of *A Star Is Born*, where their duet “Evergreen” won an Oscar for Best Original Song, and Kristofferson earned a Golden Globe for his acting.
