Gov. Sule, FG Team Set to Visit China for Energy Transition

Nasarawa State Governor and Chairman of the North Central Governors Forum, Abdullahi Sule, along with other members of the federal government’s delegation, will visit China on Monday.
The visit is part of Nigeria’s energy transition initiative, aimed at adopting more sustainable and cleaner energy sources.
Nigeria aspires to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, a goal that experts say will unlock significant investment opportunities in sectors such as solar energy, hydrogen, and electric vehicles.
A statement by Ibrahim Addra, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, highlighted that the presidential delegation will tour major Chinese industries and renewable energy technology manufacturing facilities.
“The visit aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of actualizing Nigeria’s Green Industrial Revolution, central to which is the establishment of Nigeria’s first Green Industrial Zone, Evergreen City, in Nasarawa State. Engr. Abdullahi Sule’s inclusion in the team and Nasarawa State’s selection to host Africa’s first-ever eco-industrial park underscore the state’s progress and Governor Sule’s exceptional leadership,” Addra stated.
In early July, Ajuri Ngelale, Special Climate Envoy of President Tinubu, met with Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, H.E. Shri Balasubramanian, at the State House to enhance Nigeria’s green industrial efforts.
Ngelale discussed new green industrial partnership opportunities with the administration of H.E. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and exchanged views with Governor Sule on establishing Africa’s first eco-industrial park, Evergreen City, following a Federal Executive Council meeting.
