Ogun’s N5 Billion Palliative: Commissioner Promises Transparency

Dapo Okubadejo, Ogun State’s Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun, assured residents of transparent distribution of the state’s N5 billion palliative initiative during a forum organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ogun State Council.
The forum aimed to hold power to account and seek clarifications from government officials on policy grey areas.
Okubadejo addressed concerns over the palliative’s disbursement, emphasizing thoroughness in the process.
Regarding the initiative’s implementation, he stated, “all ‘I’s will be dotted and ‘t’s crossed,” and assured stakeholders’ involvement for transparency. He also discussed leveraging technology, including BVN and NIN, for identification in the scheme.
Okubadejo highlighted the state government’s achievements in the last five years, particularly in industrial development and digital transformation, citing a significant increase in Internally Generated Revenue from 50 billion in 2020 to over 130 billion in 2023.
NUJ Chairman, Comrade Wale Olarenwaju, underscored the forum’s purpose as facilitating interaction between the government and the people, acknowledging Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration’s strides.
