Fourth Crude Shipment Arrives At Dangote Refinery

The Dangote Refinery has received its fourth crude shipment, consisting of one million barrels of bonny light crude, supplied by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL).
With preparations underway for the refinery’s production commencement, it is anticipating the arrival of the fifth crude shipment shortly.
This latest delivery is part of the six million barrels expected by the world’s largest single-train refinery.
The earlier consignments included three million barrels, and the Managing Director of Dangote Ports Operations, Mr. Akin Omole, indicated that the refinery would receive the remaining four million before the end of 2023 and the additional two in early January 2024.
Upon full delivery, these six million barrels will facilitate the initial operations of the refinery, enabling the production of diesel, aviation fuel, and LPG, with subsequent progression to Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) production.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery, designed to process 650,000 barrels per day and accommodate various crude types, holds the capacity to meet 100% of Nigeria’s refined product requirements.
Additionally, it is equipped to export surplus products, addressing fuel supply challenges in Nigeria and other West African countries.
The refinery’s infrastructure includes two Single Point Moorings (SPMs) for crude intake, three separate SPMs for product discharge, and the capability to load 2,900 trucks daily.
The facility adheres to international specifications and standards, ensuring compliance with Euro V specifications, US EPA, European emission norms, DPR emission/effluent norms, and ARDA standards.
