LP Rejects Proposed Timetable For Edo Governorship Primaries

The Labour Party in Edo State has refuted the authenticity of an online document titled “Guidelines and Timetable for Edo State Governorship Primaries,”

The document, bearing Dr. Abayomi Arabambi’s signature, claims to detail the Labour Party’s internal process for the 2024 gubernatorial candidate selection. Edo Labour Party’s Publicity Secretary, Comrade Sam Uroupa, in a Friday press release, vehemently condemned the forgery. He clarified that neither the party’s national secretariat nor any authorized official has released official guidelines or timetables for the upcoming primaries.

Uroupa emphasized that Dr. Abayomi Arabambi lacks party membership and holds no official position, therefore lacking authority for pronouncements on internal party matters. The party, he explained, communicates through established channels with the national secretariat, assuring that any genuine information on the primaries will be shared exclusively through these official channels. Uroupa urged governorship aspirants, party members, and the public to dismiss the fake document attributed to Dr. Arabambi. He appealed, “The official guidelines and timetable for the Edo State governorship primaries will be communicated once released by the national secretariat of the Labour Party.”
