President Tinubu Inaugurates NEC At Aso Villa’s Council Chambers

President Bola Tinubu
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inaugurated the National Economic Council (NEC) on Thursday at Aso Villa’s Council Chambers.
Tinubu’s Social Media aide, Dada Olusegun, made this known via a post on Twitter.
The National Economic Council is constitutionally led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, and members include state governors and the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, among others.
Section 153(1) of the FRN Constitution, as modified, and paragraphs 18 and 19 of Part I of the Third Schedule established the National Economic Council.
The NEC is made up of the 36 state governors, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and other government officials who have been co-opted.
President Tinubu stated during the NEC’s inauguration that the challenge of reviving the economy before the new administration is difficult, but that there will be no excuses not to perform because they all pleaded and even danced in front of Nigerians to grant them the job.
He urged the Council with getting to work, stating that “it is very reassuring that our citizens are behind us, but they want reforms and they want them very quickly.”
