The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, has been reelected to represent Ifo Constituency for the fourth time.
Oluomo was the Deputy Speaker of the Ogun Assembly from 2011 to 2019.
In 2019, he returned and emerged as the Speaker of the House, a position he still occupies as he won another term of four years . On Saturday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Oluomo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of the Ifo 1 Constituency election.
The Returning Officer, Professor Richard Shobayo, said, the Speaker polled 7, 546 votes to defeat his closest rival, Yusuf Ogundele of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who got 6, 596 votes.
According to the INEC official, 18, 378 voters were accredited out of the 95, 448 total registered voters.
