The super eagle of Nigeria gets a perfect response with a win against Guinea-Bissau in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series with a 1-0 win in Bissau on Monday.
The Super Eagles had suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to the Djurtus just last Friday in Abuja. The super eagles exacted their revenge as Peseiro’s team won the reverse leg when Moses Simon converted his penalty kick. The result takes Nigeria back to the top of Group A with nine points.
They now have two more than Guinea-Bissau. It also ended a four-match losing streak for the three-time African champions. Sierra Leone occupies third place with five points, while Sao Tome and Principe have just one point.
