Adeleke, Adewusi Assume Leadership In Osun State

Senator Ademola Adeleke and Kola Adewusi were sworn in as Governor and Deputy Governor of Osun State, respectively, on Sunday.

Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate was declared the winner of the Osun State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission in mid-July (INEC).

Adeleke and Adewusi were sworn in on Sunday, November 27, 2022, by Adepele Ojo, Chief Judge of Osun State.

The event was attended by PDP chieftains and dignitaries from across the states.

Adeleke arrived at the venue in a long convoy of vehicles around 11:20 a.m. and took his oath around 11:50 a.m.

Also in attendance at the event held in the main bowl of Osogbo City Stadium are the 2023 PDP presidential candidate and his running mate, Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, respectively.

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki and his counterpart in Akwa Ibom State, Governor Emmanuel Udom, were also present.

Also present were Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State, Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose and Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

Also at the venue were: Wife of the PDP presidential candidate, Titi Atiku, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, and former Oyo governor, Chief Rashidi Ladoja, among others.

Adeleke Resume Duty

Meanwhile, the newly sworn-in governor of Osun State, Ademola Jackson Adeleke has approved the appointment of new aides into his administration.

The appointments came a few hours after the new Osun State governor took the oath of office with his deputy, Kola Adewusi, at the Osogbo City Stadium on Sunday.

After his inauguration, Adeleke approved the appointment of Kazeem Akinleye as his Chief of Staff.

The governor also announced the appointment of Teslim Igbalaye as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

He also appointed Olawale Rasheed as his spokesperson.

Adeleke, who personally announced the new political appointees, said their appointment takes immediate effect.

Adeleke had on Sunday ordered the freezing of the state government’s account.

He also ordered the reversal of the name of the state from ‘state of Osun’ to ‘ Osun state’.
