Agbede clarified that the funds were a part of IGP Usman Alkali Baba’s ongoing Group Life Insurance Welfare program for families of deceased police officers for the 2020/2021 policy year.

In delivering the IGP’s message to the families of the deceased officers, Agbede said the funds would go a long way toward easing their suffering. He also added that the officers and men of the Nigerian Police Force would continue to carry out their responsibilities of keeping the country safe.

Justice E. John, one of the next of kin who spoke on behalf of other relatives, praised the IG for the insurance welfare package and said that the move proved that the late officers’ sacrifices were honored even after they passed away.

John promised that the money they received would be used properly.
