Tambuwal’s emergence comes only days after he withdrew from the party’s presidential contest to endorse former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who subsequently won the presidential primary.

If elected, the Governor of Sokoto will attempt to represent seven Local Government Areas in the Senate in 2023.

Bodinga, Dange/Shuni, Kebbe, Shagari, Tambuwal, Tureta, and Yabo are the LGAs.

Following Tambuwal’s declaration on Saturday, he will face the incumbent, Senator Danbaba Dambuwa, who just defected from the PDP to the APC.

Governor Tambuwal formerly served in the House of Representatives, representing the Tambuwal/Kebbe Federal Constituency and rising to become Speaker of the House in his third term.
