Buhari Urges Muslims To Pray For Peace During Ramadan

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday urged Muslims throughout the country to pray for peace during the month of Ramadan.

He urged Muslims to practice more personal discipline, which he believes is essential for the development of a strong nation.

In a statement issued on Friday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the president said the period provides a rare chance to “feel the hunger experienced by the poor, to feel what it is like to be deprived and marginalized.”

The statement released by the President is titled ‘President Buhari welcomes Ramadan fasting, asks Muslims to feed the poor.’

According to him, “Muslims should seek greater personal discipline, which is necessary for the realization of a great nation.”

Buhari warned the Muslim elite against wasting food and overspending while others suffer from hunger and poverty.

He challenged people to be concerned about their neighbors, especially the impoverished and marginalized.

Buhari also requested prayers for peace in the country and throughout the world, as well as healing and harmony.

He used the occasion to wish all Muslims a successful fasting season of 30 days.
