Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has confirmed that 42 people have died and 15 have survived the building collapse on Gerrard Road in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu made the remarks while visiting the site with All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule yesterday.
“At first, there were nine survivors, but there are now 42 deaths.” Six more survivors have been recovered in the Police Hospital Falomo, bringing the total number of survivors to 15.”
