The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Ogun State Command, has arrested and paraded no less than thirty (30) young illegal migrants in the state.
The State Comptroller of NIS, Abosede Olayemisi, said in a statement released on November 1 that illegal migrants from Benin and Congo were also found to be engaging in fraudulent operations against other migrants.
According to her, the illegal migrants were misleading their fellow nationals about non-existent businesses in Abeokuta, where the arrests were made.
“They are 30 in number. We apprehended them at their office, where they gathered and were doing illicit business. They are defrauding fellow foreign nationals by bringing them in and collecting money from them. They promised them employment in Nigeria.
“After taking money from them, they threw them to the streets. The next thing is to repatriate them to their home countries,” Olayemisi noted in the terse statement.
