Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has given out over 300 bicycles to pupils who previously had to walk from neighboring villages to schools in the state.
The governor contributed while on a visit to the state’s southern senatorial region, where 22 projects were set to be inaugurated.
On Thursday, the governor, who had already launched various projects on Tuesday and Wednesday, also opened a skill development center and a secondary school in the Kwaya Kusar LGA.
Zulum announced sponsorship for roughly 200 beneficiaries during the inauguration.

He said, “New teachers should be recruited from qualified residents of Yimir Lang community.
He also gave out 300 bicycles to pupils who used to walk to school from neighboring villages “to ease their movement.”
Zulum directed the building of a new secondary school in Ganjiwa town, likewise in Kwaya kusar, in the year 2022.
“In the last two years, the Zulum administration has constructed 21 mega schools with 60, 30, and 20 classrooms, over 432 classrooms in 48 schools, and entirely refurbished 39 schools,” stated the state Commissioner of Education Lawan Abba Walkibe.
