Napoli’s prolific striker, Victor Osimhen, has committed to a new contract with the Italian club, securing his services until 2026.
The 24-year-old, who played a pivotal role in Napoli’s Serie A triumph, scoring 26 goals in 32 appearances in the 2022-23 season, as he helped Napoli win their first league title in 33 years after joining from LOSC in September 2020 for a fee of €75 million with bonuses will now enjoy an increased annual salary of €10 million after taxes.
Notably, the extended deal introduces a €130 million release clause, applicable exclusively to non-Italian teams. Despite a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal, Osimhen opted to stay with Napoli, emphasizing his commitment to the club.
The Nigerian forward, honored as the Italian footballers’ association player of the year and crowned African Footballer of the Year for 2023, continues to be a key asset for Napoli.
President Aurelio De Laurentiis expressed his reluctance to part with Osimhen, rejecting Al-Hilal’s substantial €200 million bid.
His previous contract was scheduled to expire in 2025.
Napoli officially announced the contract extension on social media, affirming their partnership with Osimhen until 2026.
