Following the Super Eagles’ triumph over South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 semi-final, Vice President Kashim Shettima joined in the celebration, conveying President Bola Tinubu’s commendations and boosting the team’s morale.
The match concluded with a 1-1 score after extra time, setting the stage for Nigeria to face either hosts Ivory Coast or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final on Sunday.
Notably, both regular-time goals were scored from penalties, with Captain William Troost-Ekong finding the net in the 67th minute, and Teboho Mokoena equalizing from a 90th-minute spot-kick.
Ahead of the crucial match, Vice President Shettima, representing President Tinubu, visited the Super Eagles in the dressing room, expressing joy and congratulations for their impressive victory.
