USA Claims Fifth Straight Olympic Gold in Men’s Basketball, Led by LeBron James and Stephen Curry’s Heroics

The United States continued their dominance in Olympic men’s basketball by securing a fifth consecutive gold medal, defeating hosts France 98-87 in Paris. Led by NBA legends LeBron James and Stephen Curry, the star-studded American team showcased their talent in a thrilling match at Bercy Arena.

Amid a charged atmosphere, France fought back to close the gap to 82-79 in the final quarter. However, Curry responded with a decisive three-pointer, followed by three more, sealing the victory for the U.S.

James praised Curry’s performance, saying, “You just marvel at his talent. I’ve seen it before on the opposite side, but you just have to keep finding ways to get him the ball.”

This U.S. team, often compared to the iconic 1992 ‘Dream Team,’ featured four NBA MVPs—James, Curry, Kevin Durant, and Joel Embiid—along with 11 NBA All-Stars and seven NBA champions.

When the final buzzer sounded, Curry was the centerpiece of the American celebrations, embraced by teammates and wrapped in the Stars and Stripes by James. Coach Steve Kerr lauded Curry’s game-changing performance, remarking, “The flurry at the end was incredible. I’ve seen it a few times, but it never gets old.”

Curry reflected on the win, saying, “There’s a lot of relief. It wasn’t easy, but I’m so excited. This is everything I wanted and more.”
