Transition Committee Raises Alarm Over Ganduje’s Sales of Government Properties to His Family

The Transition Committee has raised alarm over the sales of government properties by the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to members of his family and associates.
The claim was made by the Abba Kabir Yusuf-led Transition Committee during a Wednesday visit to the Kano State Public Procurement Bureau’s (Due Process Office).
The Due Process Office was allegedly sold to the governor’s son, Abba Ganduje, according to the leader of the committee, Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, who oversaw the Recovery of Public Assets Subcommittee.
“The office which was until this afternoon being actively utilized by staff of the office was sold to the son of the exiting governor of the state and we are deeply worried by the manner at which the outgoing governor is mortgaging the common franchise of the good people of Kano state leaves much to be desired,” he said.
He said the act of the government was akin “to vandalism; they are uprooting every structure of governance.”
Recall that Ganduje had already warned the NNPP not to make any statements that could be construed as policy statements until it had been sworn in.
Additionally, Ganduje had urged his incoming successor to avoid putting together a scenario that would imply that the state has two governors.
