Tinubu to Inaugurate Key Projects During One-Day Visit to Adamawa

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will pay a one-day official visit to Adamawa State on Monday, February 16, 2026, where he is expected to inaugurate major infrastructure projects and engage with key stakeholders.

The visit was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Confirming the development, the Adamawa State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, James Iliya, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola that the state government had concluded arrangements to receive the President. He described the visit as a validation of the developmental strides recorded under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration.

According to Iliya, President Tinubu will inaugurate several completed projects, including the newly constructed underpass at the former Bekaji Roundabout, the expanded Bank Road in Yola, and a model school in Yola North Local Government Area—one of 21 newly built model schools across the state.

The President is also expected to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for a new NYSC permanent orientation camp in Malkohi, commission an ultra-modern High Court Complex, unveil the automated gate at Government House, and inaugurate the newly constructed Governor’s Office complex.

“These projects span key sectors including education, infrastructure, justice administration, governance, security, healthcare and human capital development,” Iliya said.

He urged residents of the state to remain law-abiding and peaceful during the visit, calling on citizens across political affiliations to turn out in large numbers to welcome the President.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force, through the Adamawa State Command, announced heightened security arrangements ahead of the visit. The Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, ordered the deployment of operational assets, including the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, Surveillance Squad, and Crowd/Traffic Control Unit.

The police said the teams would conduct covert surveillance operations and ensure adequate security coverage across the state to guarantee a peaceful and successful visit.
