Singer D4vd Named Target in Grand Jury Probe Over Teen’s Death After Remains Found in Tesla

Singer D4vd is the focus of a Los Angeles County grand jury investigation tied to the death of a 14-year-old girl whose remains were discovered last year in the trunk of a vehicle registered to him, according to newly surfaced court filings.

The documents, originally filed under seal in California, became public through related proceedings in Texas, where members of the singer’s family reside. In petitions seeking to compel testimony from his parents and brother in Los Angeles, District Attorney Nathan Hochman identified D4vd as the “target” of the grand jury probe.

According to the filings, prosecutors are investigating whether the 20-year-old artist “may be involved in the death” of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who authorities believe may have been the victim of foul play.

The petitions, dated Jan. 15, state that D4vd could potentially face one count of murder. Prosecutors allege that the victim’s “severely decomposed, dismembered body” was discovered on Sept. 8, 2025, inside the front trunk of an abandoned Tesla registered to the singer. The vehicle had been impounded and was located at a Hollywood tow yard when the remains were found.

According to the filings, the victim’s head and torso were placed in one bag, while her arms and legs were found in another.

Representatives for D4vd and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office have been contacted for comment but had not publicly responded at the time of reporting.
