Shehu Sani Slams El-Rufai Over Alleged Financial Secrecy in Kaduna

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has criticized ex-Governor Nasir el-Rufai over claims that his successor, Governor Uba Sani, received N150 billion in grants and interventions from President Bola Tinubu.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Shehu Sani accused el-Rufai of financial opacity during his tenure, alleging that he received various funds from ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration without public disclosure.

“The Ex-Governor collected millions of dollars in Paris Refund from President Buhari and never disclosed it to the people of the state. He collected billions in Excess Crude funds, Ecological funds, special grants through the CBN, and stamp duties from Buhari all without transparency,” Sani alleged.

He further accused el-Rufai of securing massive loans that burdened Kaduna’s future.

“There is nobody in Kaduna State who can confidently swear on their holy book that they know how every kobo of the $350 million World Bank loan was spent until the Kaduna Assembly probe,” he stated.

Shehu Sani also questioned el-Rufai’s moral authority in criticizing Governor Uba Sani, arguing that both leaders engaged in similar financial practices.

“If the present governor refused to disclose the so-called N150 billion, he must have learned it from the ex-governor. The ex-governor is coming to equity with dirty hands. If Uba Sani supports Tinubu because of money, can we say that el-Rufai was kneeling before Buhari for the same reason?”

Describing the rivalry between the two, Shehu Sani added: “The man with body odor is accusing another of having mouth odor. It’s simply a case of the legend of betrayal being outsmarted by the grand guru.”
