Sevilla has parted ways with coach Diego Alonso, following a series of disappointing results, including a 3-0 home defeat by Getafe.
Sevilla sacked coach Diego Alonso on Saturday following a dire run of form which leaves them 16th in La Liga.
“Sevilla announces they have sacked Diego Alonso,” said the club in a statement.
The Uruguayan, appointed on October 10, failed to secure a victory in both La Liga and the Champions League, losing three and drawing five La Liga games.
Despite winning two Copa del Rey matches against lower league teams, Alonso’s overall performance led to his dismissal.
Alonso had replaced Jose Luis Mendilibar, who led the team to a record-extending seventh Europa League triumph in May.
