The Zamfara State Governor-elect, Dauda Lawal Dare has vowed that security of lives and property will be the topmost priority of his incoming administration.
Dare revealed this during a press conference at his Gusau residence after the collection of his Certificate of Return from the INEC office.
The Governor-elect said that nothing whatsoever can move in the absence of peace, pointing out that the agricultural activities that usually are the main occupation of the people have dwindled drastically due to the effects of banditry. “I will address the teething insecurity challenges that are seriously ravaging the entire State before I can concentrate on other sectors,” he assured.
Dare admitted that all the decaying sectors need to be addressed before the state could be repositioned, stressing that many waters have passed under the bridge. “In politics, there is no permanent enemy, neither permanent friend but common interest, so I am appealing to everyone irrespective of political differences to join hands with me to reposition the State,” he added.
