Russia Unleashes Record 267-Drone Attack on Ukraine Ahead of War Anniversary

Russia launched an unprecedented 267 drones into Ukraine on Saturday night, marking the largest drone assault since the war began, according to Ukraine’s air force. The massive strike comes as both nations approach the third anniversary of Moscow’s full-scale invasion.

Ukrainian officials reported that 138 Shahed attack drones were successfully intercepted, while 119 others either malfunctioned or were lost in flight without causing damage. However, three drones veered into Belarus, raising further regional security concerns.

The air assault targeted several regions, including Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Poltava, Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhia, according to a statement on Telegram from Ukraine’s air force.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack, praising air defense units, emergency responders, and medical personnel for their efforts in mitigating the impact.

“Every day, our people stand against aerial terror,” Zelenskyy wrote on X. “We must strengthen our air defenses and ensure a lasting and just peace for Ukraine through the unity of all our partners.”

Zelenskyy called on Europe, the United States, and other allies to bolster support, emphasizing the need for collective strength to counter Russian aggression.

Local reports confirmed casualties in the attack, with three people injured in Odesa and one in Zaporizhzhia. Emergency response teams are working to assess the full extent of the damage.
