Rev. Okoh Emerges As The New CAN President

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has named Most Rev. Daniel Chukwudumebi Okoh as its new president. He is the General Superintendent of Christ Holy Church, also known as Nation Builders.

The CAN’s General Assembly formally confirmed Okoh’s nomination as president on Thursday.

He succeeds Rev. Dr. Samson Olasupo Ayokunle, whose term has been satisfactorily fulfilled.

Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN)/Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Organization of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), TEKAN, and ECWA Fellowship are the five blocs that make up CAN.

Biography of the newly elected CAN president

Okoh is the General Superintendent of Christ Holy Church, also known as Nation Builders (Odozi-Obodo). He was born November 12, 1963, in Kano State to Christian parents but he is a native of Ndoni in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State. Okoh is married to Ngozi and they are blessed with four children.

He attended Dennis Memorial Grammar School in Onitsha, Anambra. He studied Political Science and Education at the University of Port Harcourt, graduating in 1988. The cleric bagged a diploma in Theology from the Christ Holy Church Seminary, Onitsha.

Okoh was the Chairman of, the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC); National President of OAIC (Nigeria); CAN National Vice-President (2007-2013). With his emergence as the new CAN president, Okoh will now co-chair the Nigeria Inter-Religious Council (NIREC) alongside the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar.
