Rapper Young Scooter Dies After Suffering Injury While Fleeing Atlanta Police

Kenneth Edward Rashaad Bailey, known by his stage name Young Scooter, has died after sustaining a leg injury while fleeing from Atlanta police Friday evening, authorities confirmed.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded to reports of a dispute involving possible gunfire at a residence in the city. Upon arrival, Bailey fled the scene on foot. After a brief chase, officers located him with an apparent leg injury. Police emphasized that no weapons were discharged during the incident.

Officers immediately rendered aid, including applying a tourniquet to the injury, before Bailey was transported to a nearby hospital. He was later pronounced dead.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Bailey’s identity on Saturday. The official cause of death has not yet been determined.

Both the Atlanta Police Homicide Unit and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are conducting a joint investigation to determine the events leading up to Bailey’s death.

The investigation remains ongoing.
