According to the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, a fire broke out at Queens College in Yaba.
In a statement, the service’s director, Margaret Adeseye, said that the fire began in a two-room flat situated behind the staff housing for the school.
Adeseye, however, said that no one was hurt in the incident and added that the men from the state fire service extinguished the fire without delay.
“The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
“Meanwhile, the fire has since been put out by a combined effort of the Lagos State Fire Service and Federal Fire Service, while the police who were also alerted, prevented hoodlums from forcefully gaining access to the school premises.
“No life was lost in the incident,” she added.
