President Tinubu Declares April 7 as National Police Day

President Bola Tinubu has designated April 7 as National Police Day, a significant acknowledgment of the invaluable contributions of law enforcement officers to national security and public safety.
The announcement was made by Vice President Kashim during the inaugural award and commendations ceremony organized by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in Abuja on Monday night.
In a speech titled “Courage Under Fire: A Bouquet for Our Police Force,” delivered on behalf of President Tinubu, Vice President Shettima highlighted the commendable resilience and dedication exhibited by the police force amid escalating security challenges facing the nation.
He noted the enduring commitment of citizens to withstand threats and attacks on their lives and livelihoods, attributing this resilience to the unwavering commitment of the police.
Vice President Shettima outlined comprehensive reforms initiated by the government, including investments in training and capacity-building to equip police officers with the necessary knowledge, skills, and values to address modern policing challenges effectively.
Furthermore, the government pledged to enhance the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the police force by upgrading equipment and technology.
These measures are aimed at empowering law enforcement agencies to combat complex security threats and safeguard the well-being of citizens across the nation.
